The problem with Blogging

REWRITE:
The other night I was waiting for a load of whites to dry and got caught up in jumping from blog to blog spying on people I vaguely knew…and some I didn’t know at all.
An hour and a half later I turned off the computer feeling like a complete failure.

The problem with blogging (and Facebook too)
is that people generally put their best foot forward.
That’s just human nature.
Everyone struggles (us included)
Most pictures posted are posed and edited (mine included)
Most people don’t blog about everyday honesty because their family or co-workers are reading (me included)

That said…get ready for my Halloween post in a couple of days.
I will be sure to post awesome pictures of awesome homemade costumes,
and I won’t post pictures of me being grumpy, Dean and I fighting and the kids crying and complaining.

I’m sure you already have this quote…
I refer to it often to make myself feel better.

“Anyone who thinks that Bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are often dull than otherwise. Life is just like and old time rail journey…delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” -Gordon B. Hinckley

Its really LESLIE. Hilary, I love your blog. I dont stop by very often, but its nice to be able to catch up. If there's anyone that should have 12 little ones it would be you(at least from what I SEE on your blog). You guys are great parents and your kids are so dang cute. Love the lake photos. How fun. OOO and the last year Halloween refrigerator.

I love your blog. I went to high school with Dean and I always check out your blog. Don't tell me you guys aren't perfect though, I watch your blog to see the perfect family. Something to strive for... lol Because my house is a rampage.

Really Hilary--I think the tough beef quote is just crossing the line. Beef--it's what's for dinner! I won't share it with Korey-it would really upset him.

Hilary, I love you Pres Hinkley quote. I'm putting it on my fridge. I'm so the queen of comparing my worst with everyone's best. Thanks. P.s. I love to look at your blog cause you make me laugh.
